It's been a while chaps! A long one!

I had a look at the LFS server list the other day and it looks, well, dead! (Although all the fanboys won't admit it!) Looks like LFS is now a sim of the past.

Right now I've nearly finished my first year at uni - at Nottingham Trent doing Computer Systems Networks, pretty easy first year - just waiting for it all to pile on from October! 1 exam left (Networks) on Thursday, then back home for summer on friday! Got no money what so ever now, overdraft is becoming quite handy. What's worse is car service/MOT/insurance is coming at the end of August. Hoping for a job over summer but back home in the North East there is no jobs at all!

On sim racing side of things - doing another BTCC style league on RACE07/STCC Game starting next month - Syncro Racing has been changed to Syncro Gaming (new website at www.syncro-gaming.com hopefully being launched this week once theme issues on our vBulletin 4 forum are fixed!)

I'm still around although my racing game interest is limited to firing up the historix on Rfactor once in a while at the moment. I have had 2 different 3 month stints on iracing neither of which have held my interest for more than a month and i still check the LFS forum on a pretty much daily basis right before i check this forum to see if anything is going on lol.

My job is computer based these days so i am spending 8 hours a day glued to the screen there and where once i was on all night every night gaming, my job has curtailed my hobby as i just can't be arsed. Also my kids are older and they do not get off the damn thing till later so i guess rl is finally interfering with my hobby.

I would love to fire up LFS as every time i do when any of you lot are around i have had fun but whenever i do i end up on some crappy AS3/GTR server and there is little fun to be had. I guess i am taking the break as recommended by the Devs as i still expect the large patch to arrive and i think it will once again bring the game to the forefront of sims but in the end so many cool racers (like yourselves) are lost maybe never to return that i can only see a greater proliferation of cruise or "system" servers that dont interest me, that the atmosphere i loved will never return.

As for what I'm doing... Enjoying music & books and pondering about the Life & Universe while waiting for the end of the world... not much else.

Hello all! As for me, I'm still sitting on my backside watching traffic jams for a living.. but only at night now! Got the permanent late shift, which means I only have to work 4 days a week, which is great, but working 12 hours over night, which isn't!
Only thing keeping me sane these days are playing GTA 4 L&D and CoD4 MW...as well as being quite a demigod in Mafia Wars..(Aaah, Facebook, what did I do for a life before that happened....wait,.....what's a life?? Must remember to find out so I can get one...do they sell them on E-Bay, I wonder?)
More trivia...STILL got my G25 connected and running..and have been known to have a blast around Blackwood now and then to ease the pain of waiting for mythological Rockinghams and Siroccos!
Besides, I have found that a blast around the big city on 50cc scooters is a LOT more fun than XFG's !

Hmmm, I'll jump on the Griv bandwagon.

I spend a lot of time on my laptop at work, so further PC time doesn't really enthral me. I might check my emails and chat on MSN a bit while checking my usual websites, but that is about it.

Anyway, my LFS desktop gaming PC is in the UK, and I've no real intention of buying another PC in Malaysia these days.

Mmmmmm... Not much more happening here atm comparing to LFS days.. except just no LFS
Still working at Nokia for 40h per week.. mostly don't even have free days and if I do.. then it goes with the WoW or sleeping most out of it. So could say my days goes with sleep+work+sleep-loops... And even if free time.. it's just trying to catch up whatever I missed while at work. Sucks tbh.. But pays the bills When it comes to gaming.. Well last 2-3 years gone with the World of Warcraft.. Game itself sucks a$$, but found few quite okish ppl so playing with them almost daily.. Rob is still there also, and tiny time to time. Now recently however when we got this Steam summer sale campaign in steam.. Thinking of taking break from WoW and play all the new goodies Who knows.. maybe even having a go with LFS time to time Thel Ecci setup still just collecting dust and I don't like to see it just sitting there Maybe we could arrange some old-skool-race-nights time to time?

My wheel hasn't been used in a long time. Since I reinstalled Win7 non-RC, I installed all the serious apps and that was about it, short of PES and Virtual Pool 3.

Did some work for a firm who offered me a contract I couldn't refuse.. so now employed (40+ hours per week) as a Systems Developer writing stuff for both websites and Perl scripts for dealing with their servers and connections to Content Delivery Networks (trying to tie in 28 servers running 47 sites (150 more sites due over the next 2 years ) is interesting ).

The house stuff finally came through, so have spent the last week moving Clare's stuff into the new house.. I'll follow shortly, although only really have my boxes to take with me from here. Also been trying to get a few more things planned and sorted for the wedding next year

Maybe some old skool nights would be kinda cool. Although my interest in LFS has long since dwindled away, the last night we did was quite a blast!

You still "see" Lili from time to time Eza? Haven't seen / heard from her since mid 2008 I think after she just "disappeared".

Heh, yup.. when I took Clare to the Lake District last year.. proposed on one of the pontoons on the lake.. was a _really_ nice setting Would have made the wedding sooner, but between us, we had a lot to sort out that was probably best done before.. so is set for 23rd July, 2011 and hopefully planning 2 weeks in the Maldives for the honeymoon

My best mate is holding back what he's got planned for the stag do and the best man speech... all I know is he mentioned something about college.... I don't even remember too much about that time.. hah. Have been good friends for 20 years.. so there could be a lot to pick out of that I guess

I'll have a look at what the plans are for my evenings over the next couple of weeks (unfortunately, I don't get home until about 19:00ish from work.. only 12.5 miles, but takes about an hour ) and see if we can organise something for an LFS night

lfs, i nearly forgot that too by now, lol.

i had quite a busy reallife the past year (phew, its nearly a year now...) with new job, hmm, you could maybe say mostly network administrator i guess, but i do all kind of stuff really. big project at the moment with designing a "cloud system".

for games, i still play nearly every day, mostly League of Legends. you can find me in there for some games after work usually.

id still be up for a bit of lfs though once a while too, havent installed it anymore either though.

anyway, its nice to hear at least from some of our once shiny team that life is treating you well. dont forget to send pms whenever something lfs is coming up, im not really checking in here often anymore.
